Pedro Quintas lives and works in Lisbon.
In 1999 he finished the Basic Studies Plan in Painting at Ar.Co (Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, Lisboa).
In 2001, at the same school, he finished the Advanced Course of Fine Arts. In this year, the artist starts to be represented by Filomena Soares Gallery in Lisbon and he starts to present with regularity paintings and drawings in solo and group exhibitions.
In 2004, he start the exploration of new mediums, like digital photography, video and new media. Between 2004 and 2007 he kept a partnership with the composer Ricardo Guerreiro, a project where the interaction between picture and sound in real time performances was explored.
Currently , the artist continues to explore different mediums with special incidence in manipulated digital photography, having always the painting and his background as a painter a special reference in all works.
Pedro Quintas is well represented in private and public collections.
